Amsterdam/Brussels, 26 September 2025 - Invest-NL hosts ELTI's 2025 General Assembly and Management Board, in the heart of Amsterdam.

Attended by representatives of most of ELTI's 33 members, including the ELTI Management Board, this 2-day event kicked off on Thursday evening, 25 September with networking drinks and an informal dinner at the inspiring STRAAT Museum and continued the following day, with the General Assembly itself taking place at the historic Scheepvaartmuseum.

This year’s theme, “Building the Future Economy of the EU,” brought together European financial institutions, public actors, and entrepreneurs who discussed how we can drive long-term investment and innovation across the continent.

The first half of the General Assembly saw:

🔹The official welcome from Jellie Banga, CBO at Invest-NL
🔹An overview of the ELTI 2025 annual report and activities from Dario Scannapieco, ELTI President and CEO at CDP Cassa Depositi e Prestiti
🔹The voting procedures for the upcoming mandate of the ELTI Management Board and 2026 Budget, presided by Johan Reynaert, EU Liaison Officer at PMV, (in the absence of ELTI Secretary-General Helmut von Glasenapp)
🔹A detailed presentation on the current engagements of the ELTI Chief Economist Working Group by Livio Romano, Head of Industrial Projects and International Initiatives at CDP Cassa Depositi e Prestiti

The second half of the General Assembly, moderated by Jorine Zandhuis included:
🔹A keynote speech from Menno Middeldorp, Global Head of Research of Rabobank; on defence spending, chip chain dependencies and the link between energy independence & food security.
🔹A fire-side discussion between Frank Heemskerk, Executive VP Global Public Affairs at ASML and Rinke Zonneveld, CEO at Invest-NL; on what makes ASML a success, how to respond to growing industrial policy pressures, and the importance of European companies adopting more ASML technologies.
🔹A dedicated panel discussion, moderated by Jellie Banga, with experts in the field: Kiki Lauwers, CEO of THORIZON; Hamed Sadeghian, CEO at Nearfield Instruments ; Maive Rute, Deputy Director General at the European Commission (DG GROW) and Chair of the InvestEU Steering Committee and Borut Jamnik, CEO at SID banka. This discussion focused on how to multiply the success of ASML, and why scaling companies need faster regulation, further trust from investors, and closer dialogue amongst policymakers, investors, and between start/scale-ups companies.

Many thanks to the Invest-NL (including Jorine Zandhuis, Jellie Banga, Gabriel de Groot, Marloes Treffers, Robin van Casteren and the entire team) for hosting us and making this event such a success! Finally, a big thank you to all the ELTI members who attended, enabling excellent and inspiring discussions for continued collaboration in the future! Together we can do more! 🤝🌍
