Fight the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic: The contribution of National Promotional Banks and Institutions in Europe

ELTI published an electronic brochure on the direct contribution to fighting the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. In this brochure you will find 15 examples of investments and activities from 9 ELTI members and 7 EU Member States. ELTI members have provided funds and taken multiple large-scale risks to fight against the pandemic.

These include the financing of companies, projects or initiatives which address the global health situation directly like through biotech firms to develop effective vaccines, production of more efficient sanitising devices, investments in intensive-care facilities or agile high-tech companies which provide an AI-platform for a more efficient exchange between research institutions. All of these were and still are important elements to overcoming the pandemic. These ventures serve as an important dimension of NPBIs role within their countries and societies. European citizens are directly benefitting from these investments. All examples demonstrate the close connection of NPBIs with the local, regional and national markets.
